Accusations against the entertainer Todrick Hall are piling up on social media, with droves of people coming forward specifically to say that the YouTuber, actor, and singer-songwriter never paid them for their work. Hall, who rose to prominence after reaching the semi-finals on season 9 of "American Idol" and since becoming a successful YouTuber, touring artist, recurring presence on "RuPaul's Drag Race," Broadway star, and most recently, a VMA Video of the Year awardee, has only publicly acknowledged one accusation. But Hall's former personal assistant Tommy McKissock says the accusations surfacing on Twitter are just some examples of bad behavior Hall exhibited throughout McKissock's tenure, which allegedly included making anti-black statements, failing or refusing to pay the people he employed, and sexual harassment, as recounted in a copy of a legal complaint McKissock has been distributing online, which has been verified by Insider.
When the COVID pandemic brought the music industry to a near halt this spring, Todrick Hall had some ideas about how he would spend his time social distancing. He was in the process of transforming his bedroom into a scene from The Wizard of Oz — a favorite movie he has paid tribute to in songs and videos — and hired an artist to paint a tornado on the ceiling. But in early June, as protests against police brutality and killings of unarmed black people erupted across the nation, Hall decided his energy would be better spent in the eye of the storm instead of in his own fantasy land. He drove to downtown Los Angeles to take part in one of the many peaceful protests demanding justice for the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and others.

As a singer-songwriter he has released three studio albums, including the visual albums Straight Outta Oz and Forbidden Todrick Hall was born on a farm April 4, in Plainview, Texas , a farming community in the state's panhandle. His favorite story since he was six is The Wizard of Oz , later he would create Oz, the Musical , based on the book, an entire homage to the film, The Wizard of Ahhhs featuring the pop a cappella quintet Pentatonix , and his visual album and tour Straight Out of Oz. He loved watching the Walt Disney parade at Christmastime, he learned to dance by recording to VHS tape, and replay to teach himself the choreography.
